Lauren Conrad

She's not doing anything stylistically groundbreaking here, but it is very cute - and very LC. Love it!

Hello, plaid!

On a day like this - 80 degrees, sunny and breezy - it feels silly to be at all interested in fall fashion. (Especially since, having just returned from the pool, I'm in my uniform for hot summer days: bathing suit, sundress, braid, and sandals.)

Still, there's a small part of me that's excited for fall, with its layering, rich colors and varied textures. I get especially excited when the clothes are as beautiful as those in Thakoon's fall/winter 08 ready-to-wear collection.

Now, this is nice

This raspberry beauty is a Foley + Corinna "city clutch," and it's on sale at Piperlime. (Sadly, an on-sale price of $322 means it's well out of my price range.)

I'm on the hunt for a new functional-but-cute everyday bag. My guidelines for the magic tote:
  • Roomy within reason
  • A bold color; I think blue would be nice, though I would also go for purple or green
  • Plenty of pockets inside to store my cell phone, lip gloss, and other important items
  • Sturdy straps of a medium length (I can't deal with a big bag with short straps, which keep the bag permanently and awkwardly tucked underneath the arm)
  • Well-made…for $100 or less
Have a suggestion? Bring it on!

Crime and Punishment

Do fashion crimes really deserve to be punished?

Retail Dreams is says yes* and no*.

*If you're a celebrity, Hollywood socialite, or someone who goes out in public without wearing underwear and are often sought by papparazzi.
**If the accused is an unsuspecting (albeit poorly dressed) human being.

In the spring Chicago magazine's style supplement, I read about a Windy City fashion blogger who has a made a hobby of snapping creativily dressed hipsters and posting them to cyberspace. It's not so much the idea, rather it's her sour comments and snarky captions that go a little too far.

Check her blog, The Midwasteland, and let us know what YOU think.

I mean, it's one thing for the Fug Girls to do it--they do it to A-list superstars who should be paying a stylist anyway. (Not to mention they are way more entertaining than Midwasteland's author.)
